Does anyone know if there is a similar book by Microsoft for SQL Server

No, there isn't. The dev team at Microsoft specifically said they wouldn't
be expending the resources (no pun intended) to put together a resource kit,
because most of what would be in the RK was available through whitepapers
and the Inside SQL Server 2005 books (of which I am an author).
If there is something specific you're looking for, just ask.
