I have this problem (about access database sending "Resources Exceeded Error") my largest table has 350,000+ Registers. Might this be causing the problem? I tried deleteing 10,000 registers aout of the table but it didn't work.
It just happened after more than 1 year of mu application running perfectly fine.
You can see the error in: http://www.citaris.com/checarplayer.jhtml
Please let me know if you need any other information.
Best regards and thank you very much,.

:p Khalid, can you help me out? I've been getting this error for a few weeks now. Thanks|||Khalid,
It would be most helpful if you'd post the solution here, rather than make everyone who has this problem email you for it.

:p|||I received lately a lot of emails asking about this famous error problem.
this is my solution I have discovered:
ASP is full of bugs, as I discovered lately, but these bugs can be solved by writing code.
My problem was due to Database connections, it seem to me I was doing the perfect thing, opening connections, recordsets, executing queries and finally I destroy every object I create.
THE PROBLEM
===========
If you open only one connection (as I used to do), and run more than one query or recordsets at the same time, what is happening? ASP does not allow you to run more than one query through the same connection at the same time, (though it seems that it is working) so how come? Since ASP does not allow that, it creates its own connections to run the further queries you are executing, and after you are done with them, ASP is not destroying the connections it creates. If you are not destroying your connection objects as well, so you are helping the problem to come up.
WHAT IS HAPPENING
==================
unclosed objects will create a resource leak in memory, and as the times goes, more objects are not closed, and more memory resources are consumed until it reaches to the maximum. And guess what, the famous message will show up!
SOLUTION
=========
-Define a connection for every query by its own.
-Create you connection object and destroy them your self, don't let ASP do any thing by its self. :D
Hope this information be helpful for every body.
Cheers

after reading an article, I am using a jdbc:odbc bridge with an excel file setup as a user dsn. This is to import and export from our java applciation and jdbc database to excel. On XP and 2003 server machines, there is no problem. However, on 2000 server machines, they all get 'system resources exceeded' message and fail to do anything.
Can anyone help with identifying the underlying problem and recommend a solution ? Is there a a buggy MS component or something that needs updating? HELP!!!
thanks in advance,
Neil|||iamneil
As I have described previously, you are getting this message because your application is causing memory leak. This happens due to many causes, I have discovered that in my ASP application, IIS is opening more connections when I try to run more than SQL statement at the same time on one connections, so IIS is creating its own connections and it is not closing those connections when done with them.
If the application is working on heavy traffic those unclosed connections will be consuming the resource of the system untill it reaches the maxium.
So try to find out where is your bug that causes a memory leak.
Check out your application and tell me more about it.
Good luck|||Need Help with this issue.
Pretty Sure that the Problem is that there is a Memory Leak within the Page. It randomly just started Popping Up Non-Stop about Temporary Disk Space.
But here's where I need help - I'm a new webmaster at one of AAA Auto Clubs Divisions, and the Previous webmaster loved ASP Scripting. I personally favor PHP, because I have more experience with it.
But The Employees Here need to get this working up and running ASAP -
It's Pretty Obvious that The Script Used is from ASP Calendar -- But I can't just simply Download another Version of ASP Calendar and Overwrite the File because the Files Have Been Modified to Work Better for the Employees Uses.
Here Is the Exact Error Message I Am Receiving
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '8007000e'

6 hours trying to find what this error code was from, how it was happening, and trying to find the resource to fix it was Extremely Frustrating.
So if you can help in anyway, it will be greatly appreciated. Plus if you throw in some Educational snippits (comments in the code) of What this part of the script does and what this part of the script does. It would help tremondously!|||<!-- #include file ="dsn.asp" -->

On several occasion a bug in the ODBC driver causes all sorts of problem
in the client. Try using any third party software, such as WinSQL
(http://synametrics.com/winsql) and see if you get the same behavior.
This would eliminate the possibility of a buggy driver.

microsoft jdbc driver for SQL Server 7.0
I need a Microsft jdbc driver to connect Microsoft SQL
Server 7.0 . I can find a driver Microsoft 2000 jdbc
driver through which I can access Microsoft SQL Server
2000 but not 7.0.
I do not like to go for a third party driver..
Thank you in advance,
Hanson.
Third party solution is what you will likely have to get. You can pay for one
or just get a free one that works really well:
http://jtds.sourceforge.net/
Good luck.

The Microsoft JDBC driver was designed specifically for SQL Server 2000. As
was mentioned before, you will have to consider an alternative solution if
you wish to connect to SQL Server 7.0.

You might get a better answer in an Exchange group - I have no idea how to
link Exchange to an external data source. From an MSSQL perspective, you
could create a linked server to Exchange, or use flat files to exchange
data.

Because of its tenacity, and it is very sinewy.

I have found through bitter experience that though it may seem it on the surface, it's never a good idea to put Access and SQL Server together. Unless you have a VERY short-term project, and/or are going to be watchful and ever-present while the two paradigms (paradie?) are working side-by-side.
If you turn your back, like Daddy with two small toddlers in the back seat of the '72 Country Squire with mag wheels, a 351 Cleveland, and sidepipes toolin' down the road toward Yellowstone for a week...you will find the two sneaking swats at each other, poking each other in the ribcage, and...if your back is turned a sufficient period of time, sneaking in an out-and-out SLAP at each other.
Because they are Microsoft siblings, Access and SQL Server may ACT like they work well together, it is my firm and experience-supported position that they will never get along with each other.
At best you will have odd noises, hateful glances, and suspicious bruises that neither will own up to.
At worse, you will have out-and-out, knock-down, drag-out screaming matches, fights resulting in damaged data, broken dependencies, scrambled indexes, and a sore backhand muscle. And damned if you won't actually have to "pull this wagon over and take the both of you over my knee!"|||GOOD GRAVY cowboy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your probably right I have only really encountered some issues with Access 2000 now 2003 seems more corporative.
THAT WAS TOO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Microsoft Access to SQL Server 2005
Hi,
I have a database in MSACCESS 2003 that is 680MB (after compacting) and contains 41 tables.
I tried to import these tables to SQL Server 2005 (express edition) using the :"upsizing wizard" provided in MSACCESS. The wizard works fine but all the tables are not being imported to SQL Server (only 19 tables are getting imported) and the size of the database in SQL Server (the ".mdf file") is 1.03 GB (I have tried using the "shrink" option also) . Further, when I try to open one of the tables (which has 625295 rows and 90 columns) , it takes lot of time to display all records.
So, my problem is do I need to set any options for any of these above issues, I tried to look for any information regarding this but was unsuccessful.
Any help on this will be very much helpful for me!
thanks
Further, when I try to open one of the tables (which has 625295 rows and 90 columns) , it takes lot of time to display all records.
So filter the records by queries and never select so much data to client application ( I hasn't ever seen a user able to deal with such amount of data ), and all will be ok.
only 19 tables are getting imported
And there were no any error message during import?
".mdf file" is 1.03 GB
It is possible, that MSSQL requieres more space to store the data.
|||Hi,
Thanks for the information
I see then, it is normal for SQL Server 2005 to take some amount of time to display all the records of a table, if the table is huge.
Regarding the import problem, I dont get any error while importing.I wonder why only 19 tables are getting imported (may be due to huge table I have in the database)

Yes that is correct. The following information I found in Q/A section. What do you make of this.
10. Additionally, you may need manually to remove the Open/Run permission from the database container for the Users group through the security menus or through code. This will prevent someone from opening the database by using another workgroup information file or the default System.mda/mdw. In Microsoft Access 97, the User Level Security Wizard is supposed to remove the Open/Run database permissions for the Users group, but fails to do so. The Access 2000 Security Wizard removes permissions to the point where they are not visible on the security menus, but testing has revealed that in Access 2000 it is possible to open a database by using the default workgroup information file regardless of the menu settings. The cure for both versions of Access is to create a new, empty database while logged on as a member of the Admins group and import all of the objects from the secured database. You should take this step before spending too much time securing objects because Access considers imported objects to be new and loses the permission information that was stored in the source database.|||Yeah..it's a toy...

Hi,
Today we are very pleased to announce the RTW release of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition Access Database Synchronizer (ADS) for which many of you been waiting eagerly.
Access Database Synchronizer provides a way to synchronize data between Microsoft Access database on a desktop and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition database on a device.
The salient features of this solution are summarized below
? Provides a synchronization solution between SQL Mobile/SSCE and MS Access. Data conversion is done while synchronizing the data.
? Synchronization happens when there is an active ActiveSync connection between the device and the desktop.
? There is no update to SQL Mobile/SSCE on the device. The solution consists of only of desktop side component which works with the existing client agent on the device.
? The solution is based on existing RDA replication model. Programming model is exactly the same as RDA today.
? Device applications written today do not need to be updated if the solution is upsized from access to SQL Server.
? There is no conflict detection/resolution.
The setup installs the desktop component required for synchronizing Microsoft Access database with SQL Server Compact Edition database on the device. It also includes a readme file which has the documentation for the solution and a sample application. The readme file can be downloaded separately. The sample application shows how the solution works and how to write applications for this solution. The components installed on the desktop can be used by third party applications to provide data synchronization between Microsoft Access database on the desktop and SQL Server Compact/SQL Mobile database on the device.
On a desktop, the following operating systems will be supported:
? Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2
? Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2
? Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 with Windows XP MCE 2005 Update Rollup 2installed.

|||Hi,
Could you please guide me how to copy data from Oracle to MS SQLCe, I have the entire table structure on SQLCe.
I want to do it progamatically, if there is tool which will do this activity I am also fine with that.
Thanks in advance.
|||I was looking to forward to this after I lost the database sync capabilities going to a Mobile 5 device. Fortunately, with a workaround I was still able to do a database sync with WM5, only to lose it again after I upgraded to Vista.
Now there is a sync out, but it doesn't support WM5 under Vista. Why not? Is everybody expected to buy new devices? They are far to expensive for that. It's bad enough that the device center doesn't sync WM2002 devices any more. They are still out there, and for people just needing their addresses they will be still fine.
Back to the sync: because of the missing sync, I have two programs syncing right now with their own sync providers, just because of the missing sync. I can't wait for the day when I plug in my device and half a dozen programs will start up just so that each one can do their own syncing. Really great.
And what about my programs? I have to try to create my own syncing now again?
Let's take an example - I wrote an application in Embedded Visual Basic that used the Active Sync database sync.
I can't import the evb file to Visual Studio - that means I have to re-create the user interface, re-write the code and then also write new data access code. And now I have to write my own sync provider? And I thought that the bad import of VB6 projects into VS2005 was a hassle.
It really seems that Microsoft is trying really hard to make the life of programmers that have existing projects as miserable as possible. This is really a very big disappointment.
It may be feasible for large corporations that have the resources to hire hundreds of programmers to re-write every single application that they need over and over and over, but as a part-time programmer that just tries to keep his programs running on new platforms, it is a nightmare.

Hi,
Is it necessary to have MS Access installed on the Desktop to use this tool?
Thanks in advance,

Someone knows what could be the problem? It is neccesary install IISS. Thanks

No you do not require IIS to be running. Maybe your firewall is not setup correctly. Please go through the readme and set the firewall settings accordingly

Microsoft Access Database Synchronizer (ADS) RTW
Hi,
Today we are very pleased to announce the RTW release of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition Access Database Synchronizer (ADS) for which many of you been waiting eagerly.
? Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition SP2
? Microsoft Windows Vista (Only Windows Mobile 6.0 devices are supported)
On devices, the following operating systems will be supported:
? Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition
? Windows CE 4.2
? Windows CE 5.0
? Windows Mobile 5.0
? Windows Mobile 6.0
The following versions of Microsoft Access will be supported:
? Microsoft Access 2000 SP3 (Microsoft Office 2000)
? Microsoft Access 2002 SP3 (Microsoft Office 2002)
? Microsoft Office Access 2003 SP2 (Microsoft Office 2003)
? Microsoft Office Access 2007
This solution will work with all installations for SQL Server Mobile Edition/SQL Server Compact Edition on devices. The sample application provided is supported only on Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC edition.

I noticed that you specified that SSCE had to be running on a device. Does this mean that it cannot be used to sync an Access Database on a network drive to an instance of SSCE on an XP Pro laptop?
Thanks
|||Yes SQL Server CE on desktop can not use this solution. SQL Server CE on devices is the target platform for this solution. The supported device platforms are :
On devices, the following operating systems will be supported:
? Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition
? Windows CE 4.2

|||Can you provide an example on how to use ADS to automatically synchronize when an ActiveSync connection is established?
|||I installed the ADS wizard on a windows mobile 5.0 pocket pc. That app is working but I can not connect to an mdb database I created on the desktop.
The desktop is actually a vista ultimate configuration. The activesync is working and I disabled the firewall on that pc.
Is the reason why I can not connect the following text in the readme.txt file : ? Microsoft Windows Vista (Only Windows Mobile 6.0 devices are supported) ?
Why are only windows mobile 6.0 devices supported for vista. Is there no way to make it work on an older version ?
Thanks,
Edwin
|||Hi,
Could you please guide me how to copy data from Oracle to MS SQLCe, I have the entire table structure on SQLCe.
